Job Description

Dental assistants play a crucial role in supporting dentists and other dental professionals in providing high-quality care to patients. They work directly with patients, perform a variety of tasks to assist during procedures, and ensure the smooth operation of the dental office.

Responsibilities

  • Chairside Assistance: Support the dentist during procedures, managing instruments, suctioning, and ensuring patient comfort. 
  • Patient Care: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain a clean, organized environment. 
  • X-Ray Imaging: Capture dental X-rays, adhering to safety protocols. 
  • Patient Education: Guide patients on oral hygiene, post-op care, and treatment options. 
  • Records Management: Accurately update patient records and dental charts in EHR systems. 
  • Infection Control: Strictly follow sterilization and disinfection protocols. 
  • Appointment Scheduling: Help manage and confirm patient appointments. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the dental team to ensure smooth patient flow and support. 

Qualifications

 

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED 
  • Must have Dental Assistant Program (with 1-2 years of experience)
  • Must have current CPR Certification
  • Must have Coronal Polishing Certification  
  • X-ray certification 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities. 
  • Proficient in dental procedures and instrument handling. 
  • Thorough understanding of infection control protocols and OSHA standards. 
  • A compassionate approach to patient care and comfort.
